Axient Appoints New Vice Presidents of Accounting and Engineering

Faye Hernandez has been appointed Vice President of Accounting at Axient. Ms. Hernandez is responsible for mentoring, directing, planning, and coordinating all accounting operational functions. Rusty Powell, Ph.D., P.E., Vice President & General Manager, Space Development & Integration, has been appointed Vice President of Engineering at Axient, where he will develop and oversee systems engineering & integration processes, support the development of Axient strategic capabilities, develop and lead internal research and development policy and direction, and conduct and support technical reviews and audits in support of operational segments’ and functional teams’ activities.

Faye Hernandez

During her 8 years at Axient, Ms. Hernandez has served as Controller and has been responsible for all aspects of accounting, auditing, tax reporting, compliance, and consolidations reporting. Prior to joining Axient, she was Controller at a start-up tech company and was a Grant Accountant at a non-profit organization. A certified public accountant in Virginia and California, Ms. Hernandez holds a bachelor’s degree in Science and Business Administration and is a current member of the Virginia Society of CPAs.

 

 

Rusty Powell

Mr. Powell has been with Axient for 8 years, and has over 30 years of experience in aircraft sustainment/maintenance, program management, research and development, academic, and acquisitions, including 23+ years in the U.S. Air Force. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (Mechanical) in Colorado and an American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Associate Fellow. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed articles in various publications and conferences on the topics of hypersonics, combustion, launch and range, and engineering education. Mr. Powell holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, an M.S. in Aeronautical Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Engineering.
