Pentagon works to bridge air, missile defense capability gaps

With a goal of determining potential gaps in efficiency in the U.S. military’s integrated air-and-missile defenses, a Pentagon panel that oversees new capabilities and acquisitions is set to begin a new process to defeat enemy attacks.

In order to block any sort of imminent danger, there must be a system in place to identify and overpower the threat.

The Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC) will focus on four main focus areas. The different focus areas, information advantage, joint command-and-control, fires, and contests logistics, are critical war-fighting development concepts.

The JROC’s assessment will be a part of the ongoing Missile Defense Review by the National Defense Strategy, a document used to analyze missile-defense strategies by the U.S.
