Axient's Tina Leighty Recognized by NSCFC with Harry Kolcum Memorial News and Communications Award

Axient’s own Tina Leighty was recognized by the National Space Club Florida Committee (NSCFC) for her “excellence in telling space story along Florida’s Space Coast and throughout the world,” when she received the Harry Kolcum Memorial News and Communications Award on October 8 at the Celebrate Space event at Cape Canaveral. Tina works closely with the NSCFC and represents Axient in the aerospace community at the monthly luncheons and special award functions.

The nominees for the Harry Kolcum Memorial News and Communications Award are selected based on their dedication to “facilitating and/or communicating the space story to the general public in a consistent manner deserving of recognition. The award is named in honor of Harry Kolcum, the former managing editor of Aviation Week & Space Technology, who was Cape bureau chief from 1980 to 1993, prior to his death in 1994. Kolcum was a founding member of the National Space Club Florida Committee.” (Read more about the history of the award and previous awardees at www.nscfl.org).

Congratulations, Tina! Thank you for all your hard work and ensuring Axient is well-represented in the space community.
