Learn MoreOn October 17th and 18th, Axient’s Senior Vice President for International and Commercial Programs, Jay Kovacs, represented Axient at the Netherlands–U.S. Defense Industry Days held at the Netherlands Embassy in Washington, D.C. Jay, who also serves as the Managing Director of Axient Systems B.V., our wholly-owned subsidiary in Delft, Netherlands, participated in a key panel session titled “Promoting Transatlantic Investments.” Here, he shared insights from establishing Axient’s Netherlands-based subsidiary and highlighted our new program, PAMI-1. As part of this pioneering effort, Axient Systems will act as mission integrator, delivering a space mission to demonstrate satellite laser communications and advanced sensor technology for the Netherlands Ministry of Defense (MoD).
The panel discussion, moderated by Jaap Slothouwer, Executive Director for the Americas at the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA), also included Niels Krol, Senior Account Manager for Aerospace at Innovation Quarter. Jay emphasized the collaborative support from the NFIA and Innovation Quarter that has been crucial in Axient’s progress over the last year. “In the last year, we established our wholly-owned subsidiary in the Netherlands and have hired our first seven employees,” he noted. “We couldn’t have done this without the outstanding support of the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency and Innovation Quarter.”
The event provided further opportunities to spotlight the PAMI-1 initiative. In a separate session titled “Success Stories and Opportunities of NL-US Industrial Base Cooperation,” Gus van der Feltz, Senior Business Development Manager at Axient’s partner FSO Instruments, elaborated on the significance of the PAMI-1 project and the groundbreaking Netherlands–U.S. partnership behind it. With the support of partners such as VDL ETG, DEMCOM, TNO, Blue Canyon Technologies, and Raytheon, this collaboration reflects the deepening defense ties between the Netherlands and the United States.
